Cops/LEO what is about being married to a cop?
People tell me all the time that being married to a cop is different from being married to a "regular joe." But I don’t see it. I know that the divorce rate is high in LE. What do you think causes these marriages to fail? What kind of woman does it take to make a successful marriage to a LEO?
The biggest thing about a relationship with a LEO is understanding. We work weird, ridiculous, long hours, overtime, and holidays. Many spouses want to hear about our day, but we just want to forget our day and that ensues into an argument because the spouse feels that they are being left out and the other is not talking to them. I’m a little different, since I (female) am the LEO, but it goes both ways. My husband worries about me getting hurt. He doesn’t like the cop get togethers because all they talk about is cop stuff and it gets boring. He hates the hours. He hates the mindset of some police officers. It’s like LEO’s have a whole separate family and spouses sometimes feel that they aren’t included. Understanding is the best advice I can give. Most veteran cops (been on the street for a while) have learned to separate work from home, which helps tremendously, but the spouse must be understanding about all the mental and physical crap we deal with every day.

Why did God choose the Jews to be his people?
I am not anti-semitic, I have the utmost respect for Jews-at least real Jews and not the Zionist impostors-but that’s a whole another story. Moreover, are there particular reasons God chose the Jews, does the Torah or Holy Bible describe something along those lines? Thanks.
There are 12 tribes, not just one. You cannot lump all of them into one tribe, Judah.

The Chosen People
by Rabbi Shraga Simmons
Appreciating an often-misunderstood idea.
The Jewish nation is often referred to as "the Chosen People."
Many people (including Jews) are uncomfortable with this idea. They perceive the concept of a "Chosen People" as racist and mindful of the Nazi concept of a supreme "Aryan" nation. It appears to contradict the accepted Western ideal of all people being equal before God.
Is the Jewish concept of choseness racist?
When the Torah refers to the Jewish people as "chosen," it is not in any way asserting that Jews are racially superior. Americans, Russians, Europeans, Asians and Ethiopians are all part of the Jewish people. It is impossible to define choseness as anything related to race, since Jews are racially diverse.
Yet while the term "Chosen People" (Am Nivchar) does not mean racially superior, choseness does imply a special uniqueness.
What is this uniqueness? Historically, it goes back to Abraham. Abraham lived in a world steeped in idolatry, which he concluded was contradicted by the reality of design in nature. So Abraham came to a belief in G-d, and took upon himself the mission of teaching others of the monotheistic ideal. Abraham was even willing to suffer persecution for his beliefs. After years of enormous effort, dedication and a willingness to accept the responsibility to be G-d’s representative in this world, G-d chose Abraham and his descendents to be the teachers of this monotheistic message.
In other words it is not so much that G-d chose the Jews; it is more accurate that the Jews (through Abraham) chose G-d.
Chosenness was not part of G-d’s "original plan." Initially all of humanity was to serve the role of G-d’s messengers, but after the fall of Adam, humanity lost that privilege, and it was open for grabs. Only Abraham chose to take the mantle. If others would have (and they were offered the choice), they too would have joined in this special covenant which was sealed upon the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.
If a privilege is offered to everyone willing to pay the necessary price, nobody can protest that those willing to make the extra effort are being shown favoritism. For example: It is reasonable that an employee who agrees to work overtime, attend training seminars, and manage special projects, should be entitled to a performance bonus — particularly if each employee was given the same opportunity.
The essence of being chosen means responsibility. It is a responsibility to change the world — not by converting everyone to Judaism, but by living as a model community upheld by ethics, morals and beliefs of one God. In that way, we can influence the rest of mankind, a "light unto the nations" (Isaiah 42:6).
Judaism is Universal
Further, Judaism is not exclusionary. A human being need not to be Jewish to reach a high spiritual level. Enoch "walked with God," and Noah had quite a high level of relationship, though neither were Jewish. Our tradition is that all of the 70 nations must function together and play an integral part in that "being" called humanity.
According to Judaism (Talmud - Sanhedrin 58b), any person can achieve a place in the World to Come by faithfully observing the seven basic laws of humanity. These seven laws are named the "Laws of Noah," since all humans are descended from Noah:
1) Do not murder.
2) Do not steal.
3) Do not worship false gods.
4) Do not be sexually immoral.
5) Do not eat the limb of an animal before it is killed.
6) Do not curse God.
7) Set up courts and bring offenders to justice.
Torah is for all humanity. King Solomon built the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, he specifically asked God to heed the prayer of non-Jews who come to the Temple (1-Kings 8:41-43). The Temple was the universal center of spirituality, which the prophet Isaiah referred to as a "house of prayer for all nations." Non-Jews were welcome to bring offerings to the Temple as well. In fact, the service in the Holy Temple during the week of Sukkot featured a total of 70 bull offerings, corresponding to each of the 70 nations of the world. In fact, the Talmud says that if the Romans would have realized how much they were benefiting from the Temple, they never would have destroyed it!
Most other religions say that non-believers are condemned to eternal damnation. Even the calendar systems of Christianity and Islam reflect an exclusionary philosophy; each begins with the birth of their respective religion. The Jewish calendar, on the other hand, begins with the creation of Adam, the first man, teaching us the intrinsic value of every human, even though the Jewish religion was not yet born.
For this reason, Jews do not proselytize in search of converts.

IMDB rating: 6.50 Plot: Cheery Alex Fletcher lives comfortably in Manhattan off the residuals from his 80’s pop success and reprising his hits at school reunions, theme parks, and state fairs. But those gigs are declining, so he jumps at the chance to write a song and record it with reigning teen idol Cora Corman. Trouble is, he’s good at melodies but needs a lyricist and has less than a week to finish. Enter Sophie Fisher, subbing for a friend who waters Alex’s plants; she’s a pretty good poet, quick witted, and could do it, if she’d agree. But there’s some sort of shadow over her head that Alex may not be able to charm his way past. And what if they do get a song written, what then? |

Can anyone translate a song into piano notes?
I really like the new band on Nickelodean, Big Time Rush, and I wanted to learn how to play their song Big Time Rush on the piano. I’m just starting to learn how to play the piano, so I can’t do any of that translating stuff yet. If you wouldn’t mind making some sheet music for me, that would be just great! Can someone give me creatine help?
I’m a 16-year old guy, about 5′10" 150 lbs….I want to bulk up and get stronger for lacrosse season. I’ve been routinely lifting Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the past month and want to start using creatine to help me get bigger. I know there are different stages of taking creatine like loading, the regular stage, and then I think there’s a stage where you don’t take it for a little…? I’m probably going to go with the Kre-Alkalyn pills. Someone please tell me how I should go about taking these to stay safe and get the best effects? Thanks.
I personally don’t know anything about taking creatine, as I have never taken it. But creatine can cause some SERIOUS problems if you don’t use it correctly. Improper use of this substance can cause bones to grow out of already existing bones, it can cause your muscles to deteriorate and it can cause serious problems with your central nervous system. If you want to get bigger, do it naturally or use protein powders or shakes. That’s just my two cents.

IMDB rating: 7.10 Plot: Special agent Harry Tasker gets out of the water outside a heavily guarded mansion, takes off his wetsuit, and there is a dinner jacket underneath. Harry strolls into a swanky party. Harry meets with Juno Skinner, steals some computer files, and escapes in a blaze of gunfire. He’s picked up by his partner, Albert “Gib” Gibson, and they return to the United States. Harry goes home to his wife Helen. Helen doesn’t know what Harry does because he pretends to be a computer salesman. Their 14-year-old daughter Dana is a sullen teenager, and Helen is so bored by the routine of her life that she’s on the verge of having an affair with used-car salesman Simon, who claims to be a spy. Harry is hot on the trail of a group of terrorists led by Salim Abu Aziz. Aziz and his men are smuggling nuclear weapons into the USA in pieces of Persian art, and Aziz plans to hold the country hostage in the name of the Crimson Jihad. Harry’s also out to save his marriage when he discovers Helen with Simon, who still claims to be a spy. Harry uses the Agency’s resources to give Helen a taste of the real thing. Harry blackmails Helen into seducing an enemy agent — Harry himself — in a hotel room, but their tryst is interrupted by Aziz’s men, who kidnap them and take them to one of the Florida Keys, where they’re preparing to detonate their nuclear bomb. Harry escapes and rescues Helen, and then they discover that Aziz has gone to Miami and kidnapped Dana. Harry uses a harrier jet to get to Miami, where he sets out to rescue Dana. |

Name of movie where guys wife gets shot…guy spends everyday watching over mall security tapes. loses mind.?
This guys wife gets shot out in a parking lot for no reason. The guy is a security gaurd or something. He spends everyday watching over all the mall security footage over 100’s of days. He tapes up faces of people he thinks may know who is responsible or may have done it. All he wants to know is why they shot his wife. Then he notices that someone next door may be spying on him. He goes next door and breaks into the house and starts snooping around and finds pictures in the house and they are revelant to a cafe his wife had visited or something. He goes to this cafe in this other state and meets this cop and shows him the picture and asks him if he knows the person in the picture. The cop immediately recognizes who it is and calls this guys wife. Its somebody in government. The guy (whose wife was shot) goes to this hotel and waits to meet somebody on behalf of this guy. He ends up killing this guy…so he thinks. He ends up in a hospital and people are telling him he never killed anybody and that no one ever even met him at the hotel. He goes to his car in the middle of nowhere and throws all his pictures on the ground then gets and his car and leaves. Throughout the whole movie its showing portions of the hotel scene where he is trying to escape from this guy. The hotel is dark.

IMDb review:
This is a very strange, eerie movie about a Wisconsin security guard who is obsessed with finding the killer of his wife. His wife was mysteriously killed by a man at the mall where he works. His obsession leads to watching surveillance tapes over and over again looking for clues and piecing them together. He asks about a strange house, one across the road from where he lives, ostensibly to move there but the real estate agent tells him it is leased to some corporate account. He then breaks in and finds photo negatives which he has developed and goes in search of the people in the photograph which leads him to Montana. I guess while watching I did find out who killed his wife but the why was really never explained, it was all quite sinister.
I recall seeing this one about a year ago and feeling undecided as to what I think of it. Actually, I think it’s a film that demands two or three viewings before I would feel as if I had a solid grasp of it. What I’ve heard is that the director likes to create films that don’t have a wrapup or explanation, basically one that doesn’t really have an ending and is left up in the air.
