The movie follows Morrison from his days as a film student in Los Angeles to his death in Paris in 1971, at the age of 27. The movies features a tour- de-force performance by Val Kilmer, who not only looks like Jim Morrison’s long-lost twin brother, but also sounds so much like him that he did much of his own singing. It has been written that even the surviving Doors had trouble distinguishing Kilmer’s vocals from Morrison’s originals.

TIME - how do you manage it in busy relationships?
so we definitely like each other. last night we were texting and i wanted him to come over and he said he only had 30 minutes of free time - which of course i was not pleased with. i should have just told him to come over anyway, but i didn’t…we ended up texting some pretty serious stuff about him not having time for anything anymore (and i am busy myself, but i always find time). i know he is a really busy guy - i totally understand that. i made the point that if you really want something that you usually can find the time…he agreed with that, but i didn’t push the "do you wanna spend time with me" card because that’s a conversation for face to face.

what would you do in this situation? i really like him and it’s not like i have any other guys knocking at the door waiting for a chance with me. i think if we could sit down and talk in person and reveal how much we do like each other that we might decide we could at least give it a try. isn’t it worth a try if the feelings are mutual? how do you make the time for someone? i don’t know how i do it, i just do.

 Soul | Feb 07, 2010

you’re absolutely right. if someone really wants to hang out/be with someone/etc, they’ll make the time and the effort to go along with it. actions do speak louder than words and that’s what I’d pay attention to. You can meet up with him, and speak your peace but ultimately it’s how he responds to it. You can’t rush or try to put something that just isn’t meant to be. If it’s gonna happen then everything is going to come together and it will make flow. Being with someone isn’t or shouldn’t be a chore, it’s something that you just do, like second nature. Talk to him, and let him know what you want and if his actions don’t honor your wishes, move on. You did about all that you could and you know that you put it out there. Go in bracing for the worst but hopeful for the best.

Cops/LEO what is about being married to a cop?
People tell me all the time that being married to a cop is different from being married to a "regular joe." But I don’t see it. I know that the divorce rate is high in LE. What do you think causes these marriages to fail? What kind of woman does it take to make a successful marriage to a LEO?

The biggest thing about a relationship with a LEO is understanding. We work weird, ridiculous, long hours, overtime, and holidays. Many spouses want to hear about our day, but we just want to forget our day and that ensues into an argument because the spouse feels that they are being left out and the other is not talking to them. I’m a little different, since I (female) am the LEO, but it goes both ways. My husband worries about me getting hurt. He doesn’t like the cop get togethers because all they talk about is cop stuff and it gets boring. He hates the hours. He hates the mindset of some police officers. It’s like LEO’s have a whole separate family and spouses sometimes feel that they aren’t included. Understanding is the best advice I can give. Most veteran cops (been on the street for a while) have learned to separate work from home, which helps tremendously, but the spouse must be understanding about all the mental and physical crap we deal with every day.

 The Chosen People
by Rabbi Shraga Simmons

Appreciating an often-misunderstood idea.

The Jewish nation is often referred to as "the Chosen People."

Many people (including Jews) are uncomfortable with this idea. They perceive the concept of a "Chosen People" as racist and mindful of the Nazi concept of a supreme "Aryan" nation. It appears to contradict the accepted Western ideal of all people being equal before God.

Is the Jewish concept of choseness racist?
When the Torah refers to the Jewish people as "chosen," it is not in any way asserting that Jews are racially superior. Americans, Russians, Europeans, Asians and Ethiopians are all part of the Jewish people. It is impossible to define choseness as anything related to race, since Jews are racially diverse.

Yet while the term "Chosen People" (Am Nivchar) does not mean racially superior, choseness does imply a special uniqueness.

What is this uniqueness? Historically, it goes back to Abraham. Abraham lived in a world steeped in idolatry, which he concluded was contradicted by the reality of design in nature. So Abraham came to a belief in G-d, and took upon himself the mission of teaching others of the monotheistic ideal. Abraham was even willing to suffer persecution for his beliefs. After years of enormous effort, dedication and a willingness to accept the responsibility to be G-d’s representative in this world, G-d chose Abraham and his descendents to be the teachers of this monotheistic message.

In other words it is not so much that G-d chose the Jews; it is more accurate that the Jews (through Abraham) chose G-d.

Chosenness was not part of G-d’s "original plan." Initially all of humanity was to serve the role of G-d’s messengers, but after the fall of Adam, humanity lost that privilege, and it was open for grabs. Only Abraham chose to take the mantle. If others would have (and they were offered the choice), they too would have joined in this special covenant which was sealed upon the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.

If a privilege is offered to everyone willing to pay the necessary price, nobody can protest that those willing to make the extra effort are being shown favoritism. For example: It is reasonable that an employee who agrees to work overtime, attend training seminars, and manage special projects, should be entitled to a performance bonus — particularly if each employee was given the same opportunity.

The essence of being chosen means responsibility. It is a responsibility to change the world — not by converting everyone to Judaism, but by living as a model community upheld by ethics, morals and beliefs of one God. In that way, we can influence the rest of mankind, a "light unto the nations" (Isaiah 42:6).

Judaism is Universal
Further, Judaism is not exclusionary. A human being need not to be Jewish to reach a high spiritual level. Enoch "walked with God," and Noah had quite a high level of relationship, though neither were Jewish. Our tradition is that all of the 70 nations must function together and play an integral part in that "being" called humanity.

According to Judaism (Talmud - Sanhedrin 58b), any person can achieve a place in the World to Come by faithfully observing the seven basic laws of humanity. These seven laws are named the "Laws of Noah," since all humans are descended from Noah:
1) Do not murder.
2) Do not steal.
3) Do not worship false gods.
4) Do not be sexually immoral.
5) Do not eat the limb of an animal before it is killed.
6) Do not curse God.
7) Set up courts and bring offenders to justice.

Torah is for all humanity. King Solomon built the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, he specifically asked God to heed the prayer of non-Jews who come to the Temple (1-Kings 8:41-43). The Temple was the universal center of spirituality, which the prophet Isaiah referred to as a "house of prayer for all nations." Non-Jews were welcome to bring offerings to the Temple as well. In fact, the service in the Holy Temple during the week of Sukkot featured a total of 70 bull offerings, corresponding to each of the 70 nations of the world. In fact, the Talmud says that if the Romans would have realized how much they were benefiting from the Temple, they never would have destroyed it!

Most other religions say that non-believers are condemned to eternal damnation. Even the calendar systems of Christianity and Islam reflect an exclusionary philosophy; each begins with the birth of their respective religion. The Jewish calendar, on the other hand, begins with the creation of Adam, the first man, teaching us the intrinsic value of every human, even though the Jewish religion was not yet born.

For this reason, Jews do not proselytize in search of converts.

Everyone has a place with G-d and heaven.
But those gigs are declining, so he jumps at the chance to write a song and record it with reigning teen idol Cora Corman. Trouble is, he’s good at melodies but needs a lyricist and has less than a week to finish. Enter Sophie Fisher, subbing for a friend who waters Alex’s plants; she’s a pretty good poet, quick witted, and could do it, if she’d agree. But there’s some sort of shadow over her head that Alex may not be able to charm his way past. And what if they do get a song written, what then?

Can anyone translate a song into piano notes?
I really like the new band on Nickelodean, Big Time Rush, and I wanted to learn how to play their song Big Time Rush on the piano. I’m just starting to learn how to play the piano, so I can’t do any of that translating stuff yet. If you wouldn’t mind making some sheet music for me, that would be just great! You can find the full version with lyrics on YouTube.

Opinions Wanted…. I am eight months pregnant….?
My husband and I do not go out that much since I have been pregnant. So we decided to go to Frickers for the UFC fight. I figured he has been working hard on the nursery and going to work in this cold weather, so we could do something that he wanted to do. Well we get there and it is us and my family. Then comes walking in a girl with a two month old baby. She sat right in the middle of all the crazyness of the fight. The baby was so upset that he couldnt get a bottle down. She didn’t even know how to hold him, his poor little head was not supported and was falling all over the place. Then a man approched her about the situation and things began to get alittle heated between her BF and this guy. She still didn’t remove her baby from this crazy situation. Then my husband started to feel bad about having me drive him out there. I tried to tell him that it was different than bringing a little baby to the bar on fight night. I have a safe warm place for my baby to be comfortable. And all e does is sleep when I am awake anyway. Do you think we were in the same category as te girl with the infant? All I wanted to do is give my husband a night out and didn’t intend him to come home and feel bad about it:(

I would not put you in the same category, but I can see how your husband would feel bad. He’s just thinking about protecting you and the baby and all the changes that are going to come when its outside of your womb! Sorry your night out didn’t work out crystal_b | Feb 07, 2010

No you are not in the same category, as you seem to be educated in child safety and you know you would do differently if it was you in that girl’s place.
Sarah: aussie youth worker | Feb 07, 2010

It just shows, he’s going to be a good daddy!

I’ve gone out to the bar quit a few times while pregnant with my son and now with my daughter. I go to have fun, play some pool, and darts. Don’t let an irresponsible mother make you two feel bad. Enjoy the time you two have alone, before you have baby. It’ll be a while before you can go out again.

Best wishes!
Having ridden the bench for years because of a string of bad luck stories and perhaps insufficient character, Willie Beaman (Jamie Foxx) seizes what may be his last chance, and lights up the field with a raw display of athletic prowess. His stunning performance over several games is so outstanding and fresh it seems to augur a new era in the history of this Miami franchise, and forces aging coach Tony D’Amato (Al Pacino) to reevaluate his time-tested values and strategies and begin to confront the fact that the game, as well as post-modern life may be passing him by. Adding to the pressure on D’Amato to win at any cost is the aggressive young President/Co-owner of the team, Christina Pagniacci (Cameron Diaz), now coming into her own after her father’s death. Christina’s driving desire to prove herself in a male dominated world is intensified by her focus on the marketing and business of football, in which all coaches and players are merely properties.

Can someone give me creatine help?
I’m a 16-year old guy, about 5′10" 150 lbs….I want to bulk up and get stronger for lacrosse season. I’ve been routinely lifting Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the past month and want to start using creatine to help me get bigger. I know there are different stages of taking creatine like loading, the regular stage, and then I think there’s a stage where you don’t take it for a little…? I’m probably going to go with the Kre-Alkalyn pills. Someone please tell me how I should go about taking these to stay safe and get the best effects? Thanks.

I personally don’t know anything about taking creatine, as I have never taken it. But creatine can cause some SERIOUS problems if you don’t use it correctly. Improper use of this substance can cause bones to grow out of already existing bones, it can cause your muscles to deteriorate and it can cause serious problems with your central nervous system. If you want to get bigger, do it naturally or use protein powders or shakes. That’s just my two cents.
